Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is related to methods for communication, which complement or replace speech or written language.
AAC is used by children and adults with difficulties in communication often with congenital conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, intellectual disability. AAC is also used by children and adults with acquired conditions due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, brain damage, and aphasia.
Over 100 000 children and adults with communication difficulties live in Bulgaria.
